Spring 2013 Holzer AgroEcology Workshops
Sepp Holzer, aka The Rebel Farmer, is coming to California for the first
time and this will be his first California Workshop - March 21-25, 2013 - Loma Mar, CA
Early registration for the Workshop ends soon, see details below.
WORKSHOP
Holzer AgroEcology workshops provide both the theory and practice for
Sepp's techniques. There will be both lecture and hands-on components to
each workshop. The Spring workshop may be taken on its own or used for
credit in the 30-day Practitioner Certification program, the first time
it has been offered in North America.
Curriculum for workshops will be guided by the project at hand, Sepp
Holzer's personal assessment of the site, and the interests of students.
The workshop will cover many of the certification topics such as Concept
Development and Planning, Agroforestry, Aquaculture, Alternative
cropping systems and gardens, Mushroom cultivation, Botany, Animal
Husbandry, Food and Nutritional Self-Sufficiency, Old and Proven Farming
Techniques, and Landscaping (including terraces, soil reservoirs, dry
and wet biomes, herb spirals, hügelkultur, crater gardens, and raised beds)
LOCATION
Sepp's US tour begins at McCormick Creek Camp in Loma Mar, California on
March 21, 2013 with a 5 day workshop.
Loma Mar is tucked away in the Santa Cruz mountains, about an hour from
San Francisco, San Jose and Santa Cruz. Bordering San Mateo County
Memorial Park, McCormick Creek Camp is an undeveloped, off grid, and
rugged 16 acre site of mixed Redwood and Oak woodlands which retains
much of its ancient forest ecology.
